Gloves are making a comeback from small handcoverings to long armlets and wrist cuffs. Learn how to knit this essential accessory designed with a contemporary twist, combined with a touch of period drama. The aim of the course is to produce a collection of how-to-do-it samples, developed to the point where you are able to complete a project with a Victorian twist at your own leisure. Glove-knitting can look complicated to the inexperienced knitter, but they can be knitted on either two needles or in the round on double-pointed kneedles – so don’t worry! All you need to take full advantage of this course is to be able to cast on and off, do knit and purl stitch and have an open mind to the possibilities.

This very distinctive form of lace originated as a cottage industry in the Lake District.
