Friday 18 January
5 – 6 pm Residents and non-residents check in at reception. A member of staff will allocate residents’ bedrooms and help with any queries.
6.30 pm Dinner.
7.45 – 9.15 pm Introduction – outline of themes, confidence building – pronunciation.
Saturday 19 January
9 – 10.30am Topic: introductions.
11 am – 12.30 pm Topic: strategies for improving listening skills; survival language.
2 – 3.45 pm Free time.
4.15 – 5 pm Topic: ordering food and drink.
7.45 – 9.15 pm Topic: shopping.
Sunday 20 January
9 – 10.30 am Topic: to be decided by the course participants.
11 am – 12.30 pm Topic: strategies for continuing practice and self-study.
Lunch and depart.
Course materials to be brought by student: Spanish/English dictionary if you have one, though not essential. Notebook and pen.
Recommended pre-course reading:
None – watching/listening to the news on Spanish TV or radio (via the internet) would provide good training for the ear, even if you don’t understand much.
