Essentially an East Anglian phenomenon of huge skyscapes, notable painters included Constable, Parkes-Bonnington, Sell-Cotman and Turner; who between them influenced successive generations of painters in their brilliant but delicate depiction of shifting light in Landscape.  This talk is beautifully slide illustrated throughout with works that are evocative, atmospheric and nostalgic of Britain's rural past, but which also looks at stunning Landscape Watercolourists of the 19th and 20th centuries.

THE GEOLOGY AND NATURAL HISTORY OF TENERIFE ref: D116

The Canarian archipelago, of which Tenerife is the largest island, is one of the world’s major oceanic vulcanic groups. MtTeide is Tenerife’s magnificant volcanic peak with a history of recent activity and the second biggest volcano in the world. The islands’ sub-tropical location has meant that the established flora and fauna were little affected by glaciation. All this and more will be explored in this talk.
