  • based in Cambridge where she has two studios, one for hot work and one for cold restoration (gold leafing and stringing).
  • worked as a restorer for over 30 years for the Arts market.
  • also an expert in conservation and preservation of items too fragile for conventional restoration, using both traditional and modern techniques.
Enamelling has come to be Sharon's overriding interest with a lot of experimental work being done in bead colours and formation. Inspiration comes from experimenting and finding something wonderful that can be used in the making of beautiful jewellery - something which students discover a passion for. Sharon has taken over the Enameled Beads courses from the now-retied Janet Notman. These courses produce very high quality, professional standard jewellery work, with each bead being unique and different. Higham is one of only a handful of  places offering residential Enameled Beading courses now, as genuine expert Tutors are very rare and we are doing our best to ensure these skills are passed on.
