Director in a private partnership with experience in the foundation of an arts and crafts college. Former Chair of IIP.
		John Hudson (Deputy Chairman) ~ Loweswater, Cumbria. Retired university lecturer with a science background, who has been involved with the Open University and U3A since leaving teaching. Chairman of a local history society in Cumbria. Published author on the history of chemistry and Treasurer of the Historical Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
		David Abbott ~ Lytham, Lancashire. Retired Senior Corporate Manager with NatWest Bank and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers; experience in advising on new business start-ups and loans. Former Director/Treasurer of Face-to-Face, a charity working with homeless people.
		Margaret Walker ~ Dudley, West Midlands. Group Portfolio Consultant with City and Guilds for Creative Arts, retired teacher and university lecturer, Further Education manager with experience of charity law and other residential colleges, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Magistrate and former member of the Magistrates’ Court Committee, West Midlands.
		Heather Scott ~ Chester le Street, Durham. Recently appointed to the board, chairman of the Friends of Higham for the last 5 years. Background in university-based professional training with experience at Board level in NHS and charitable organisations.
		John Wallbank ~ Leytonstone. Retired Theatre Producer and General Manager with Arts Council, charity and property management experience. Member of the Arts Council advisory panel and Theatre Writing committee. Professional musician and WEA lecturer.
		Charles Searle ~ Silloth, Cumbria. Recently appointed to the board. After coming to the county to complete a three year PhD thesis, he has stayed for the next thirty. He has worked mainly in the voluntary sector, for housing associations, a family centre and the Workers Educational Association. Currently, he leads the county’s Adult Education Service. A frequent Higham course goer, he aims to help the college with its fundraising and ensuring its sustainability.
		Nigel Barker (Company Secretary ~ not a Trustee) ~ Keswick, Cumbria. Retired company secretary in banking and insurance with trust, company and charity experience. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
